Get ready to go!

We are packing up getting ready to head out for a Hawaiian adventure. We're just weeks shy of our 45th wedding anniversary so its appropriate that we should be enjoying a major vacation! During our married travels, which has been our shared hobby, we have seen 49 of our 50 states. Hawaii is the ONLY one left!! So, we'll be able to cross it off the list.

We're going with our friends Steve and Mary McDermott of Lafayette, Oregon. We got to know them in Bend at the Methodist church there and have remained close even though we've both moved since then. S &M have been to Hawaii several times over the years so they know their way around - kinda.

We'll drive to McDermott's tomorrow and fly out of Portland on Monday morning, going through LAX and arriving in Honolulu late. (Not sure what the time difference is!) We'll spend a few days in Honolulu, doing the requisite tourist things, then we'll hop over to The Big Island for a  few days and then end up in Maui. We should be home July 8th.

Blogs are fun. We don't care if anyone reads it, or cares to follow us on our adventure, or vicariously enjoy a trip to The Islands, but its a great way for us to create a memory book of our trip.
